According to Rahul Rai Kakkar, senior consultant and psychiatrist at the Narayana Hospital in Gurugram, the epidemic is affecting people psychologically as well and during this time taking care of mental health has become as important as maintaining Covid hygiene. Experts have emphasized that epidemic blues can be defeated while working from home, getting proper sleep, time management, physical exercise etc.

Spending some good time with family members while working from home can also help build confidence. To stay healthy, Kakkar mentioned some things like regular sleep, avoiding sleep during day time, consuming caffeine after 5 pm, etc.

He also said that sometimes it is difficult to come out of the jungle of his thoughts. Therefore, it is advisable to seek professional help. The psychiatrist said that seeking help is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of strength. Experts have also warned that the coming weeks will be severe, so everyone should get out of the house only for necessary work and adequate precautions should be taken.

According to data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family, India has recorded 2,34,692 fresh covid cases in the last 24 hours, the highest number of cases on a single day so far. On Saturday, the total number of Covid cases in the country has reached 1,45,26,609.
