Lenovo has been teasing its Legion-branded gaming phone for a long time. We have also seen a leaked description of the design and specs of this phone in the last few months. However, we will soon be able to relax them as Lenovo has today confirmed that its gaming phone will launch in July. Yes, Legion Gaming Phone (not an official name) will come next month.
Lenovo shared this information through an official post on Weibo today. It posted a teaser poster that read, ‘See you in July’ and the army logo. Nothing has been revealed through the poster below but recent leaks give us an idea of what to expect from a Legion Gaming phone.
Lenovo legion gaming phone teaser
We recently saw a host of renderers online for the surface of this phone and if they come true then it is the weirdest looking phone on the planet. It will sit right next to the giant Energizer phone which will have a ridiculous 18,000mAh battery.
The Legion gaming phone is rumored to be an attractive offering with a fullscreen display on the front, a pop-up selfie snapper on the side (not on the top), and a dual-camera in the rear, with center-aligned sports to avoid smoothness while playing. It will have a 64MP + 16MP system at the rear and a 20MP selfie camera.
The device is rumored to include a full-HD + display with 2340 × 1080 resolution and a 270Hz touch sampling rate. It will be powered by Snapdragon 865, coupled with UFS 3.0 internal storage and LPDDR5 RAM. Lenovo is also rumored to include 90W fast-charging in Lenovo gaming phones, which makes it possible to juice a 5,000mAh battery from 0 to 100 percent in about 30 minutes.
Finally, the device will include a USB Type-C port on the side – similar to the Asus ROG phone and 3.5mm headphone jack. The Legion Gaming phone will go against the likes of ROG Phone 3 and Nubia Red Magic 5G, which was launched earlier this year.
