Xiaomi next generation fitness tracker band. Mi Band 5 has been in the news for quite some time. In the past, reports have detailed not only the features but also the design of the Mi Band 4 successor. Now, a new report details the launch date of the device.
According to a report by GizChina, Xiaomi is planning to launch Mi Band 5 next month. The report said that Xiaomi made the announcement through its Xiaomi Mall WeChat, in which it said that its next generation fitness tracker will arrive on June 11.
As for features, the Mi Band 5 is expected to feature a punch hole display that sits at the bottom of the screen. Punch hole display is likely to have a camera. It is expected to get a 1.2-inch touchscreen OLED display with NFC and Google Pay.
In addition, Xiaomi’s upcoming fitness tracker is also expected to get a SpO2 sensor and a virtual assistant. While variants launched in China are expected to come with the company’s XiaoAi, international variants are expected to support Amazon Alexa.
Mi band 5 is expected to be priced at 179 yuan (40 1,840 approx).
Mi Band 5: Features
According to a recent leak, the Mi Band will come with compatibility for Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant. This will be the first time that Xiaomi Mi Band will come with support for Smart Voice Assistant outside China.
It will also come with a SpO2 sensor to track blood oxygen levels. It will also come with a menstrual cycle tracking facility. Both these features were largely absent from the Mi Band 4. It will also include five new fitness activity trackers: yoga, ellipticals, rowing machines, jumping rope and indoor cycling.
