Xiaomi is moving ahead with Round 1 of its MIUI 12 stable release schedule. Recently bringing its latest OS upgrade with global versions of Redmi K20 Pro and Mi 9T Pro as well as the European version of Mi 9, Xiaomi has now expanded MIUI 12 to global and Indian versions of Redmi K20 and Mi 9T I have done it. These initial builds are still based on Android 10, but the Android 11 versions of MIUI 12 should kick off later this year. Xiaomi company generally considers its devices to be two Android OS upgrades, so Android 11 may be the last stop for the Redmi K20 and Mi 9T. Based on past performance, Xiaomi should support devices that have not progressed beyond Android 11, at least until MIUI 14.
Initial MIUI 12 updates for the Redmi K20 and Mi 9T have started being released as over-the-air (OTA) downloads. The global version will receive V12.0.1.0.QFJMIXM, while the devices enrolled in the Indian branch of MIUI will be upgraded to V12.0.1.0.QFJINXM. We have also included the full changelog below, which is longer. Some major changes include new system animations, and updated dark mode, and sophisticated gesture controls. Xiaomi has also started accepting applications for Round 2 of its MIUI 12 release schedule. The Many devices include in this list the Redmi Note 8 series, the Redmi Note 7 series, and the Pocophone F1.
