Redmi 9 Prime Launched with Helio G80 SoC, 18W Fast-Charging in India

Within a few months of the unveiling of Redmi 9 globally, Xiaomi has reunited it with the “Prime” suffix and launched it in India today. As promised in the teaser last week, Redmi 9 Prime made its debut in India with fast-charging support in the MediaTek Helio G80 chipset, quad-camera array, and tow.

This sub-Rs. 10,000 smartphones have a vertical polycarbonate built around the Redmi K30 (or Poco X2) -style circular ring. You also get a physical fingerprint sensor under the camera array.

The Redmi 9 Prime features a 6.53-inch full-HD + IPS LCD display with a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio, 2340 x 1080 resolution, 400 nits brightness, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. You can also see the Waterdrop Notch Top, which has an 8MP selfie camera.

The quad rear-camera system features a 13MP (f / 2.2) primary camera, 8MP (f / 2.2) ultra-wide camera with 118-degree FOV, 5MP macro lens (ahem..OnePlus Nord), clear please), And a 2MP depth sensor.

Under the hood, the Redmi 9 Prime is powered by a gaming-centric MediaTek Helio G80 chipset, similar to the Narzo 10 from Realme. There is LPDDR4x RAM up to 4GB and eMMC 5.1 storage onboard up to 64GB, which is expandable up to 512GB via a dedicated microSD card slot.

The phone runs MIUI 11 based on Android 10 out-of-the-box, which is especially disappointing when MIUI 12 was announced a few months ago. The Redmi 9 Prime is equipped with a 5,020mAh battery, which is similar to its big note siblings. The smartphone supports 18W fast-charging but only gets a 10W charger in the box.

Common connectivity options including USB Type-C port in tow, a 3.5mm headphone jack, WiFi 802.11b / g / n, Bluetooth 5.0 and FM radio.

Price and Availability

Price of 4GB + 64GB base variant of Redmi 9 Prime Rs. 9,999 while the high end 4GB + 128GB variant costs you Rs. 11,999 in India. Redmi 9 Prime will be available for purchase in four color variants, namely Space Blue, Mint Green, Sunrise Flair, and Matte Black.

Redmi 9 Prime will be available on Amazon India during the Prime Day event, starting on August 6 and will soon be available on Mi.com and offline partner stores.
