The well-known caller ID app, Truecaller, enables you to already see who is calling you and clean up the spam caller. The bright red pop-up notification is enough to tell you not to take a curtain call. Truecaller is now taking advantage of this feature with the rollout of a spam activity indicator for Android users.
The spam activity indicator, as the name suggests, will give you more context for each number marked as spam in Truecaller’s books. This will display the number of calls made using a spam number in the last 60 days, as seen in the image below. This is going to give you an accurate idea of how active the spam caller is.
You will also see that recently total spam reports have been filed for a certain phone number. This will show a percentage increase or decrease, with the time of day that such spam callers are the most active. When users usually receive a call from a certain spammer you will see a time limit. Where you will get all this information, you ask Truecaller Android app will provide you this spam activity under caller’s profile.
The official blog post stated, “By showing spam statistics, you can better identify whether names and statistics give numbers a chance.” Truecaller is working to display spam activity reports in Live Caller ID (or fullscreen caller ID if you have one) that pops up when a call is received.
If you just want to check spam activity for a random number, you can visit the website of Truecaller to see the above figures. This will help you make a better decision for choosing a call marked spam in the future. The service currently has over 240 million active users and India is one of its largest markets due to the influx of spam callers.
