Now Amazon, Flipkart to only deliver essential orders in Delhi

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had said on Monday that, the delivery of things needed in Delhi will be possible. This includes medicines, ration and daily care items.

Amazon and Flipkart have suspended the delivery of non essential products in Delhi. Lockdown is currently underway in Delhi and the Corona case figures are increasing day by day. In such a situation, Amazon and Flipkart have taken this big decision. The online market place will be able to deliver only the goods needed to the house of the people. This list includes food, ration, medicine and personal care products. After Maharashtra, e-commerce websites have taken this big decision in Delhi.

The lockdown has already started in Delhi which will run till 26 April. To give information about this to customers, Amazon has also put a banner on its site. It has been written that in view of the instructions of the government, we are currently delivering only the goods needed. If customers are asking for some electronic and other goods, then a message is coming to them that e-commerce cannot deliver these items.

Amazon and Flipkart have started delivery of only the items needed here, but this too may take some time. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had said on Monday that, the delivery of things needed in Delhi will be possible. In such a situation, we have given permission to e-commerce for delivery of all these goods during lockdown. All passers will be given e-passes.

After this decision, an Amazon spokesperson said that, customers can trust us. At the moment, we are only delivering the items of need. But in the last one year, we have seen that the list of goods in need is huge. In such a situation, it is very difficult to keep which products we have in essential goods. We request the Delhi government to give us permission for inter and intra state delivery. We will follow all the rules because many local shops are also associated with us.

“Currently, we are enabling deliveries of essential products in line with new guidelines set by the government,” said an Amazon India spokesperson in a statement to Gadegets360.
